MONDAY Today, we had potluck with all of the CDH's staff. All of the guests contributes a dish and we had lunch together from 12-2pm. After eating, we learn on how to do printing on heat transfer paper. heat press in printing is screen printed fabric on heat press to sure ink in studio. A heat press is a machine engineered to imprint a design or graphic on a substrate, such as a t-shirt, with the application of heat and pressure for a preset period of time. The main challenge that I had to face is to deal with the machine plotter and cutter. The design must be synchronize with the output. After finishing printing and cutting, we have to take off the sticker manually by using a special cutting tool. This is the design that we've been working on. Each of us have to print out and stick this on our own tshirt by using heat press technique. Since it is my first time dealing with heat press, i took some time to comprehend the whole step and process. TUESDAY After understanding all the process of heat press, i started to work on the actual project. We asked En Zaidi and En Nazer to help us to use the cutter machine. We also learn how to use the cutter software (how to set type of paper, measurement needed for secure printing, the thickness of paper and how to adjust material manually to get the best result) WEDNESDAY After having breakfast, we've been informed that En Indera (Leader for Creative Packaging Design Division) is organizing a workshop for packaging. I only manage to attend the first session as I have to work on editing for Siri Syarahan Umum (Professorial talk by Prof Aldrin & Prof Azizi). However, I've learnt so much on the first session for example type of packaging, what should be included in a good packaging, how to make an attractive packing and so on. THURSDAY In the morning, En Zainuddin assigned us to create an event logo for APUCEN. APUCEN itself already has an official logo but somehow we need to rearrange and recreate a new look for this 3rd event logo and add a number. For this task, I proposed 2 design as below. After designing, I continued to edit Prof Azizi childhood pictures. Total number of pictures is about 14 pieces. These are to be included in video montage that will be presented next Wednesday on Professorial Talk. FRIDAY Today, I have to do a photobook for perutusan naib canselor USM. I have to compile all of the pictures coming from campus Kejuteraan at nibong tebal, Kampus Kesihatan at Kelantan and lastly from kampus induk at Penang. As this was the first time I had to design a photobook. This task is given by en Anuar. I've took some time to explore on youtube on how to use adobe Lightroom. Believe it or not, I only took about an hour to do the layout for all photos. It is a way much easier to use Adobe Lightroom compared to Adobe Photoshop since all setting for photobook is already provided in Lightroom. I also do some editing on color hue and saturation to create intense pictures.
